Family Services

Chemical dependency is often referred to as a Family Disease and can present unique problems within the family unit. It can and does envelop the entire family. Therefore, IVRS likes to include the family in the treatment process whenever possible. We also offer education classes to family members who would like to visit someone in our residential programs. Attendance at these classes helps the visits to be constructive and safe for everyone and are designed to give you an idea of what to expect from a loved one in rehabilitation.

Intervention

Professional Intervention

The purpose of a professional intervention is to direct a non-compliant alcoholic or addict to treatment. IVRS’s professional interventionist works with the family and significant others to carefully plan and execute.

Family Support Groups

Including the Family

Family members and significant others wishing to visit a client in residential treatment must attend Family Support Groups prior to visiting. The groups take place prior to visiting each week, and are designed to assist family members with what to expect, and explore how to handle typical problems that might arise during the treatment process.

Counseling

Multi-Family Groups

Multi-family groups provide a forum to help families of the people served change and improve the way they interact. This is accomplished through working to increase understanding and facilitate communication within the family unit. Effective family therapy does not place the blame on any one family member.

Counseling

Addiction and recovery can strain relationships. IVRS designed this group to provide an intimate forum where couples can discuss various topics including, but not limited to, communication, trust, interpersonal issues, and relapse concerns. Groups are facilitated by skilled clinicians. Whatever the issue may be, you or your partner can bring it to this group and receive beneficial feedback.
